Dorothy Johnson, a cherished member of the Reno community, passed away on February 10, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on April 26, 1939, she led a life characterized by dedication, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Dorothy spent 15 years as a marketing manager for XYZ Corporation, where she was instrumental in the oversight of several successful product launches. Her efforts were recognized when she received the Marketing Achievement Award in 2015, reflecting her innovative approach and effective leadership.
Dorothy's academic journey culminated in a Master’s degree in Business Administration from XYZ University, where she distinguished herself academically by receiving the Outstanding Academic Achievement award in 2010. Her intellectual curiosity and dedication to learning set a profound example for those around her.
Beyond her professional achievements, Dorothy was known for her warm personality. Her kindness and welcoming nature made others feel at ease, and her great sense of humor left a lasting impression on friends and family alike. She had a passion for service, regularly volunteering at a local homeless shelter, where she helped provide meals and support to individuals in need. Her contributions earned her the Volunteer of the Year award, reflecting her commitment to making a positive impact in her community.
Dorothy is survived by her sister, Sarah Johnson; her brother-in-law, Tom Johnson; and her close friend, Rachel Lee. She was preceded in death by her mother, Susan Smith; her father, John Smith Sr.; and her brother, James Smith.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the viewing on February 22, 2024, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Sonzini Mortuary, Reno, NV. A funeral service will take place the following day, February 23, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the same location, concluding at 12:00 PM. Dorothy Johnson’s legacy of kindness and service will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
