Harold Benton, 81, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on June 12, 1943, Harold grew up with a deep appreciation for hard work, kindness, and the simple joys that make life meaningful.
For more than four decades, Harold dedicated himself to a career in community banking, where he was known for his steady guidance, warm demeanor, and genuine care for the people he served. Many sought his counsel not just for financial matters, but for life advice delivered with his signature quiet wisdom.
Harold married the love of his life, Margaret, in 1968, and together they built a home filled with laughter, music, and a deep sense of togetherness. He was a proud father to two children, Daniel and Emily, and an adoring grandfather who never missed an opportunity to attend a recital, game, or birthday celebration.
A man of gentle spirit, Harold enjoyed early morning coffee, tending his vegetable garden, and restoring old radios in his workshop. His friends and family will remember him for his soft humor, steady presence, and the way he made everyone feel valued.
Harold is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret; his children, Daniel (Laura) and Emily (Christopher); and four cherished grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Ruth Benton.
A celebration of Harold’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Willow Creek Community Chapel. Visitation will take place one hour prior, with burial to follow at Oakview Memorial Gardens.
Harold’s legacy of warmth, patience, and integrity will continue to guide the many lives he touched.
