After years of inspiring young athletes, Jim transitioned into dentistry, where he finished his career, embodying the spirit of a lifelong learner with a degree in Technology from Ball State University, following his graduation from Batesville High School in 1996.
A proud veteran of World War II, Jim served honorably and earned the Purple Heart during his time in Germany. His military service is a testament to his bravery and dedication to the nation, qualities he carried into every aspect of his life.
Jim was not just a respected figure in his professional life; he was also a man of great humor, woven into the lives of his family and friends. He had a wonderful personality that could light up any room. Those who knew him will fondly remember his ability to make everyone around him laugh, finding joy in life's simple moments. His hobbies included a varied range of interests from gardening to enjoying the cinematic worlds of Star Wars and countless movies.
Jim's family was central to his being, and he is survived by his children: John, Jim Jr., Jason, and Jeff. He cared deeply for them and was known to inspire and encourage them in all their endeavors.
He is preceded in death by his parents, father Javon and mother Julie, whose love and guidance undoubtedly shaped the extraordinary man Jim became.
A visitation will take place on August 27, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Tukios located at 2326 E Washington Blvd, Ogden, UT 84409.
