Margaret "Maggie" Whitlow

February 2, 1941 — May 13, 2025

Margaret Anne “Maggie” Whitlow, 84, of Willow Creek, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on February 2, 1941, in Ashford, Kentucky, Maggie was the second of four children to the late Raymond and Lucille Hensley. A spirited and kind-hearted woman, Maggie spent her life caring for others—with a laugh that could fill a room and a pie recipe that no one could quite replicate.

She married the love of her life, George Whitlow, in 1963. Together they raised three children and built a warm home full of books, music, and Sunday dinners. Maggie worked as a librarian for over 30 years at Willow Creek Public Library, where she was known for remembering everyone's favorite author and always having a recommendation ready.

Maggie enjoyed gardening, playing the piano, and spoiling her grandchildren. She was an avid birdwatcher and a lifelong advocate for literacy and education in her community. She was also a devoted member of Gracewood Church for more than five decades.

She is survived by her children, Thomas (Leigh) Whitlow, Rachel (David) Greene, and Daniel Whitlow; her six grandchildren; her sister, Judy Parsons; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband George, her brother Samuel, and her parents.

A celebration of Maggie’s life will be held on Saturday, May 24 at 2:00 p.m. at Gracewood Church, 118 Meadow Lane, Willow Creek. Visitation will take place one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Willow Creek Literacy Fund.

She will be remembered always for her kindness, her wisdom, and the way she made everyone feel at home.
