Paul Ray Johnson, a cherished member of the Aynor community, passed away on October 14, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by family. He was born on October 15, 1952, in Galivants Ferry, South Carolina, and led a life filled with love, laughter, and a dedication to service.
Paul graduated from Aynor High School in 1985, a testament to his deep roots in the area and his commitment to education. Following his high school years, he proudly served as a veteran of World War II. His career as a dedicated employee at the United States Postal Service showcased his strong work ethic and devotion to his community.
Known for his energetic personality, Paul loved being around people. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was playing golf, tennis, or pickleball. His zest for life was contagious, and he created warm memories for all those fortunate enough to know him.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Sue Johnson, and his children, Paul Jr. (Sarah) and Paula (Mike). He took immense pride in his role as a grandfather to Brandon, Hannah, Brent, Bella, and Brigs. Together, they filled his life with immeasurable joy and happiness.
He was predeceased by his parents, Steve and Mary Johnson, and his sister, Betty Johnson, who now watch over him.
Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home in Aynor on October 16, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will take place on October 17, 2025, at 3:00 PM at 4461 Nichols Hwy, Galivants Ferry, SC, and will conclude at 4:00 PM.
Paul Ray Johnson leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and love that will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be greatly missed, but his spirit will live on in the cherished memories he created with family and friends.
