Raymond Mitchell, born on April 26, 1939, passed away on February 10, 2024. He dedicated twenty years to service in the United States Army, achieving the rank of Colonel. During the Gulf War, he demonstrated exceptional bravery in combat and was honored with both the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
Raymond will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Family, friends, and community members are invited to honor his memory at Sonzini Mortuary in Columbia, South Carolina. The viewing will be held on February 22, 2024, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by the funeral service on February 23, 2024, at 11:00 AM, concluding at noon at the same location.
His burial is scheduled for May 21, 2025, at Cypress Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park in Colma, California, beginning at 6:45 AM.
